Beliche Water Treatment Plant
The Beliche Water Treatment Plant, located beside the dam with the same name, has a capacity of 13,000 m3/day. Covering the counties of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, the Beliche Water Treatment Plant serves a maximum of 60,000 inhabitants.
The BELICHE Water Treatment Plant forms a part of the Algarve Multi-municipal Water Supply System and is supplied by water coming from the Odeleite and Beliche lagoons. The treatment processes adopted enable excellent quality water to be obtained. The techniques used are extremely efficient for removing unwanted substances from the original water (biological, microbiological and chemical nature). This is the only way to guarantee high quality water production with excellent organoleptic characteristics.
