Message from the Chairman

You have just entered the Águas do Algarve, SA site! Welcome to the company, to which the State granted the responsibility of designing, constructing and operating the Algarve Multimunicipal Water Supply and Wastewater Sanitation Systems.

By navigating across the site, you will see that we are a Company with a strong regional identity, owned exclusively by the public as a result of a corporate partnership established between the 16 Municipal Councils in the Algarve and Águas de Portugal, SGPS.

The main aim of this partnership, consolidated into Águas do Algarve, is to guarantee the supply of water in both quantity and quality for human consumption and treatment of urban wastewater, in accordance with the highest environmental standards, at a socially acceptable price for these services provided to the Algarve Municipalities.

You will also discover a Company that is certified in Environment, Quality, Safety and Social Responsibility, which has its own Laboratory to continuously monitor the quality of the water collected from surface and underground sources and the four Water Treatment Plants forming a part of the Multimunicipal Supply System, as well as the quality of the effluents treated in more than 50 Wastewater Treatment Plants belonging to the Algarve Wastewater Sanitation System.

On the Site, Águas do Algarve also provides information on Company activities and corporate bodies, its human, material and financial resources, infrastructures and investments underway, more specifically on large infrastructure projects for Multimunicipal Supply and Sanitation Systems as well as information on the quality of water we supply to Municipalities and on treated effluents.

We would like to remind you that Águas do Algarve is a Company that supplies public services that are essential to the resident and visiting population. It attempts to offer an excellent service, which will only be achieved if it manages to obtain highly satisfied users.
